Do I Need To Have A Consultation?
Before any treatment takes place, you will need to book a free consultation. During the consultation, you will be seen by an expert practitioner who will ask you a number of questions and examine your skin. All our practitioners have over 5 years of experience, and you will learn a lot about your skin during the consultation.
What Is A Patch Test?
A patch test allows us to safely check your skin is suitable for Laser Hair Removal. Your skin will be assessed by your practitioner, and then a laser will be applied to a small area to check for any reaction. Treatment will not commence until 24 hours after your patch test.
Our advanced laser technology allows us to treat most skin types by applying specific settings. This means your treatment will always be carried out in the safest, most efficient method.

Does Laser Hair Removal Work On Hairy Men?
Yes, laser hair removal works on all people, although the amount of hair, the thickness of the follicles and the placement of it on the body will determine how many treatments you’ll need. Many hairy men may be looking to simply reduce the hair rather than remove all follicles entirely, so laser hair removal treatment is ideal to tailor to suit your needs and wants.

How many sessions will I need for full-back hair removal?
Having laser hair removal on the back is one of our most popular treatments, and our ‘before and after’ pictures show dramatic results. As this is a large area, most men would require the full 6 – 8 sessions. You would need to allow for 6 weeks between sessions. The whole treatment takes place over a number of months.
By the second treatment, you will begin to notice results. Backs should be shaved the day before a laser hair session. If you are unable to do this, as it can be a tricky area to reach, don’t worry, London Premier Laser can do this for you on the day of your session for a small charge.
When should I notice results?
A few weeks after a laser hair removal session, you’ll notice that your unwanted hair has become sparser and finer, your skin smoother, and your pores less visible. As your sessions continue over the months, the results will become more obvious, and you will wonder why you did not perform laser hair removal treatment earlier!
Is There Any Aftercare Treatment Required?
Protecting your skin from the sun is important after your treatment. This is easier to do in the winter months than in summer if you live in the UK. Try and make sure you put on a UVA/UVB sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher to ensure maximum protection and cover up as much as possible with thin layers.
Also, follow the advice of your practitioner. They can recommend skin creams and what to avoid before your treatment so that you get the best results. Following these simple before and after steps will ensure your laser hair treatment will be successful. If you have any questions or are unsure about anything, then your consultant will be happy to help and advise you.
Is Laser Hair Removal Suitable for Men?
Yes, laser hair removal is suitable for men and has become increasingly popular as a method to remove unwanted hair from various body areas.
Can Laser Hair Removal Affect Male Fertility?
Laser hair removal does not have any negative effects on male fertility. The laser specifically targets the surface of the skin, pigment, and hair follicles without penetrating deeper into the body to affect organs. Therefore, you can be confident that laser hair removal will not impact your fertility. If it posed a risk, clinics would not provide laser hair removal for patients in the genital area.
How Many Sessions of Laser Hair Removal Do I Need?
Typically, individuals usually require 2 to 6 laser sessions for hair removal. After your first treatment, you can expect a 10% to 25% reduction in hair. Once the treatments are completed, it is common for patients not to notice any hair on the treated area for several months or even years. In the event of hair regrowth, it is typically less abundant, and the new hairs tend to be finer. However, it is important to remember that everybody is different, and results may vary from person to person.
Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?
Laser hair removal is a highly effective method for reducing the number of unwanted hairs in a specific area. When compared to other hair removal techniques like waxing or shaving, laser hair removal offers a more permanent solution. Although regrowth may occur over time, the new hair tends to be lighter and thinner in appearance. The duration of hair-free results varies among individuals, but it is common for the treated hair to remain absent for several months or even years after completing the treatment.
What Happens if You Don’t Shave Before Laser Hair Removal?
If you don’t shave before laser hair removal, it can impact the effectiveness of the treatment. Shaving the area before the session is typically recommended because it helps the laser target the hair follicles directly. When the hair is longer, it can absorb more of the laser energy, which can cause discomfort and potentially lead to burns on the skin. Therefore, shaving the treatment area 48 hours before your laser hair removal session is advised for optimal results.
Can I Wax Before Laser Hair Removal?
In order to ensure effective laser hair removal, it is important to avoid waxing, plucking, or bleaching the hair for at least six weeks before the treatment. This is because these methods can prevent the hair from entering the regrowth phase, making it difficult for the laser to target the hair follicle effectively.
Is Back Laser Hair Removal Painful for Men?
Laser hair removal on your back will give you some slight discomfort, however, it will not be as painful as waxing. The sensation has been described as a rubber band flicking against your back multiple times. All clinics perform a patch test before any laser treatment, so you will get to feel the sensation for yourself. If you feel like you cannot withstand the feeling then numbing cream can be applied to the area which should lessen the pain and make you feel more comfortable.

Will I Experience Any Side Effects After Laser Hair Removal?
It is normal to experience erythema (redness) and mild swelling around each treated hair follicle at the specific site. Apply an ice pack with a towel to the skin to relieve these symptoms. Also, another way to alleviate any discomfort is to use soothing aloe vera gel. This cooling gel not only provides a soothing effect to the treated area but also helps maintain the skin’s moisture and promote proper healing.
Rare side effects can occur during laser hair removal, as outlined by the NHS. Here are some of these rare side effects:
- Pain, discomfort or tenderness
- Red skin that may last for some time
- Crusting, blistering, bruising or swelling of your skin
- Lightening or darkening of your skin
- Scarring
- Burns from the laser’s heat
- Bacterial infections
