Frequently Asked Questions
Anti Wrinkle
Is Anti Wrinkle safe?Firstly, be sure that a qualified doctor performs the procedure. Anti Wrinkle is proven to be safe and effective. Over the past 30 years, Botulinum Toxin Type A has been evaluated in more than 200 studies. There are no documented systemic complications associated with Anti Wrinkle injections. Anti Wrinkle has been widely used for more than 11 years with over 1 million people.
How does it work?
There are expression lines when we use our facial muscles, for example to laugh, smile or frown. The skin overlying these muscles becomes creased. As we get older, changes to our skin through the aging process cause these creases to become permanent. Anti Wrinkle works by blocking the chemical messages from the nerve to the muscle, so that the muscle becomes temporarily weakened. As a result the skin overlying these facial muscles will appears smoother and the wrinkles and expression lines softened.
Can anyone have this treatment?
It is not suitable for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Please ensure that you inform the doctor of any relevant medical information.
What to expect from the visit?
You will be asked to contract the facial muscles (frowning, squinting) that affect the area to be treated. This will help your and doctor determine the best location for the injection. The injection is normally injected directly into the muscle with a tiny needle. It may cause some minimal discomfort that is very short lived.
Results of Anti Wrinkle Injections ?
Results are normally seen within a few days. The results generally last 3-6 months and require occasional touch-ups. If the treatments are undertaken regularly in the first couple of years, patients usually require fewer treatments over time, often only once a year.
Are there any side-effects?
Side effects are not only very rare but also short lived; occasionally slight bruising can occur as can a temporary dropping of eyelid, which is reversible.
Is there any recovery time?
There is generally no recovery period. You can go directly back to your normal activities.
Dermal fillers
Are dermal fillers safe?As the HA in dermal fillers is not derived from animal products there is no risk of transmission of diseases from one species to another. There is also no risk of causing allergic reactions in individuals who are allergic to certain common foods.
How does it work?
Dermal fillers integrate with the surrounding tissue, allowing free passage of oxygen and hormones. This results in natural, healthy-looking facial skin. Over time the fillers are broken down by natural biological processes, and removed from the body.
What to expect at your visit?
The doctor will firstly to examine your face and observe your facial muscles, so you and the doctor can achieve the best result. The filler is injected with a very fine needle just under the skin. To eliminate discomfort, a dental block with local anaesthetic will be given to numb the treatment area. The treatment itself takes approximately 30 minutes and results are visible straight away.
How long do the effects last?
Most dermal fillers last between 6 and 12 months. This can depend on lifestyle, skin type or age.
Are there any side effects?
After treatment, skin may be inflamed and tender around the injection site. This normally resolves within 24-48 hours. There may be temporary lumpiness at the injection site. Allergic reaction is very rare.
Can anyone have dermal fillers?
Treatment should be avoided if the skin is inflamed or infected, or if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Can dermal filers be used with anti wrinkle treatments?
Yes, some of the best results are achieved when two treatments are combined.
