Botox
Botulinum toxin injections are the most famous medical beauty treatments due to their effectiveness, rapid result. Celebrities like Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Liz Hurley are rumoured to be keeping the wrinkles at bay this way.
It is a simple, non surgical, doctor-administered treatment that temporarily reduces lines around and between the eyes, on the forehead and around the mouth by relaxing the underlying muscles, creating a smoother, more youthful look. The ideal result smoothes creases, but leave natural expression.
Botulinum toxin is a substance naturally produced by the botulinum bacteria. Botox is a purified protein derivative of the toxin, the muscle relaxing properties of which have been used to treat numerous medical conditions for over 30 years.
Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are non-surgical cosmetic treatments. They are used to soften and contour lines, folds, and wrinkles. The most commonly used dermal fillers are Collagen based or Hyaluronic based. The solution is injected into the skin to add volume and create a more youthful appearance.
Restylane and Perlane are the brand name for non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a polysaccride that is found in our skin but it is lost through out the aging process. Hyaluronic acid in combination with Collagen Fibres and Elastin Fibres give the face form, shape and hydration. Restylane and Perlane is the most popular dermal filler used to contour the face. The product comes in three formulations. The selection of which formulation to use is determined by your skin type and the area to be contoured. The result from the treatments is immediate and will last six to eight months.
